One-click translation through WPML and the OpenAI API, keeping shortcodes, images and alt text intact, replacing paid translators and a costly translation service.

Problem

Translating posts on a multilingual WordPress site by hand was slow, and copying content between languages risked breaking shortcodes and images.

What I built

I built a WordPress plugin that connects WPML to the OpenAI API, turning post translation into a single click.

One-click translation: an editor translates a whole post from inside WordPress, with no copying text between tools.
Content stays intact: shortcodes and images are preserved through translation, so layouts don't break.
Alt text included: image alt text is translated too, keeping the translated page accessible.
Saved the WPML way: the result is stored as a linked WPML translation of the original post, so it behaves like any other translation on the site.

Details are kept general under NDA, with no client names, code or screenshots.

Result

Replaced two expensive options, hiring translators and then having a developer update each post, or paying for a WPML translation service, with a one-click plugin. It cut translation cost and time.
Shortcodes, images and alt text came through translation intact, so translated pages kept their layout and accessibility.
Every translation was saved as a linked WPML version, so it worked with the site's existing multilingual setup.
